Authority Of The Believer – Introduction
Many homes and business are ravaged because believers do not understand their authority. Our nation is on the brink of economic and governmental collapse because believers have withdrawn from culture under the delusion that our faith has nothing to do with our social woes. Chaos and deception reigns in every institution from our local schools to the halls of congress, all because believers have withdrawn their influence and failed to exert their God given authority.
We have sequestered ourselves in the box down at the corner believing that our faith has nothing to do with the condition of our world. We have relegated our calling to rule, lead and guide, as carriers of the truth, to those who walk in darkness, to the god of this world. We sit in our pews and pray while activists who deny God’s existence and disdain biblical law run rough shod over our culture. We complain to each other about how bad the world is getting while we send our children into public schools who teach our children critical race theory, wokism, evolution and that they can exchange their sex organs.
Many believers are deluded under the theology that the world gets worse and worse as we get hear the return of Jesus and what we are to do is stay separate and hold on till it finally gets bad enough that Jesus returns and bails us out.
Nothing could be further from the truth! Once again, as in the garden, Satan has tricked us out of our God given authority to rule and reign with Jesus. He has used his wiles to steal what God has rightfully given us while he destroys this planet, all its resources and its precious people.
Satan has released a horde of lying spirits with the singular purpose of causing us to sit idle in our pews, ignore the great commission, spend all our money on properties, and produce highly entertaining programs. We sit in our safe, comfortable pews praying while Satan is left free to run roughshod over our world.
What Is The Cause Of This Chaos?
Reason 1: We have lost our vision to rule and reign with Jesus, here and now in the world he has given us charge over.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, [Applies God’s clear commands and directives] happy is he.” (Proverbs 29:18 KJV, brackets added by author for clarity of application)
Reason 2: Law has gone amuck because the Law Giver’s voice on earth has been closed.
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” (Matthew 5:13)
Reason 3: We have lost our vision to rule and reign with Jesus.
“And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father;” (Revelation 1:6a KJV)
Reason 4: We have our eyes on heaven while we ignore the earth.
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10 KJV)
Reason 5: We have been deceived out of hearing God’s voice.
“My sheep hear my voice.” (John 10:3, 10:16, 10:27, 14:26)
Reason 6: Our warfare weapons sit idle because we were told God’s power died with the apostles. We have been tricked into thinking there is no demonic oppression.
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11 KJV)
Reason 7: We have been given little or no knowledge of our weapons and strategies for for victory.
“If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.” (Job 36:11,12 KJV)
As a result of all of these seven reasons we have disengaged from the battle for culture.
Do you want your children off drugs? Do you want your children in a system that holds to high biblical, moral standards? Do you want our nation healed? Do you want people to come to a knowledge of God? Do you want people to get born again? Do you want control of the world taken out of the hands of godless people and brought back to people of moral character who have the strength to stand for what is right? Do you want authority put back into the hands of Godly men and women?
What Is The Answer?
“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.” (Romans 12:2 TPT)
We must return to a knowledge of the authority God has given to us and of our right to exercise that authority over the world and all its systems and resources.
In this study we will look see:
- God gave us this planet with all its life and resources
- We have the image of God to rule, govern, control and create
- We were given a realm of authority
- Satan stole our authority
- How we lost our authority
- How Jesus got it back by becoming one of us
- How we operate in our authority again by becoming one with Him
- How we now have a Holy Spirit partner who puts power behind our authority
- Practical ways to put feet on our faith
This series is called The Authority Of The Believer. It includes writings on the topics listed above and much more. If we are to do the will of God, we must not sit idle. We must understand the authority God has given us and take it back. We must use it to prepare this world, as under-kings, for the return of the King of Kings. He has given us this world and we are told to occupy it till He returns. (Luke 19:13) We are told to rule on His behalf until he returns. (I Corinthians 4:8) Let’s do it! Let him find faith operating when he returns (Luke 18:8) and let him say well done good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over little, now you will reign over ten cities! (Luke 19:17)
